Stumbled upon a box of my mom's old advertising work
The hand-drawn logos and typefaces are amazing. It's neat to see where some of today's retro styles started.

gotta disagree a bit though @the_sean. Just because old stuff looks similar to new stuff doesn't mean the ideas started there, a lot of modern retro stuff is just borrowing shapes that were already common back then.

Totally agree, finding old design work is so cool. I dug up my dad's college projects with hand-painted album covers once. The brush strokes and color choices look exactly like modern vinyl revival art, lmao. It's awesome to hold the original pieces and see where ideas began.

Wait, your dad actually painted those album covers himself? It's wild to think that his college work from decades ago matches what's popular now. You're right, holding the original pieces must feel like touching history.
