Rant: I spent $60 on a subscription to a vintage poster archive site last month and it's completely changed how I approach color palettes.

I was stuck in a rut using the same modern, muted schemes until I found a 1950s travel ad for Acapulco with this wild lime green and salmon pink combo that I never would have considered, but it just works. Anyone have a favorite era for unexpected color inspiration?

Yeah, I get what you mean, Karen. I was doing the same thing with my own projects, just using safe colors. Then I found some old 1970s cookbook covers at a thrift store. The mustard yellow and avocado green on this one for "party dips" was a game changer for a website I was stuck on. Sometimes you just need to see those weird old combos to get your brain working again.

Wait, sixty bucks for a poster site? That's a lot. But hey, if it got you out of a rut. Those old ads are wild. I'd never think to put lime and salmon together either.
