My whole color palette got wrecked by a projector in a meeting room

I prepped a huge pitch for a cafe rebrand, all based on this warm terracotta and cream scheme. The client booked a room with this old, yellowed projector at their office in Austin. Every slide looked like it was dipped in mustard, and the owner just kept saying 'it feels a bit sick'. I had to explain my whole vision from memory. Has anyone else had a tech fail totally change how your work was seen?

Oh man, that projector basically became a third, very opinionated client. Nothing like your beautiful terracotta getting filtered through what sounds like a 90s cigarette stain. I bet the cream looked straight up jaundiced. It's the worst when the tech turns your whole vibe into something completely different and you're just standing there trying to talk a color back into existence.

You're right about the projector being a third client, but honestly abby_kim55, the cream turning jaundiced was the best case scenario. The real crime was the deep olive green that came out looking like baby food peas. It's not just the vibe that changes, it makes you sound crazy trying to describe a color that isn't even in the room. I've started bringing physical paint fans just to prove I'm not making it up.
