My portfolio site got 10,000 views in a month and it's all from one color palette

I posted a project using a specific teal and burnt orange combo back in April. The analytics show that ONE post is driving almost all the traffic, which is wild. I thought my more complex work would get attention, but nope, it's just those two colors. Has anyone else had a simple design choice blow up way bigger than expected?

Yeah, it's like what @ivan40 said about overthinking. I once spent weeks on a full branding package and the client only talked about the free icon set I threw in last minute. The internet loves simple, snackable stuff. A single strong color combo is easy to remember and share, while complex work needs more time to understand. Maybe we should all just pick two great colors and call it a day.
