My client's logo presentation got hijacked by a toddler's crayon masterpiece

I was showing a branding concept on my iPad at a coffee shop in Austin last week. A little kid at the next table reached over and scribbled a giant purple sun right over my clean vector logo with their crayon. The mom was horrified, but I just laughed and took a screenshot. That accidental overlay actually gave me a cool idea for a textured background element. Has a random mistake ever sparked a better design idea for you?

I used to get so annoyed when things messed up my perfect files. A spilled coffee stain on a sketchbook page once made me see a color combo I would have never picked on purpose. Now I leave a little room for happy accidents in my process.

That "happy accidents" idea reminds me of how my best garden layouts came from plants spreading where I didn't plan.
