Took me 3 weeks to figure out my krausen was stuck because of a bad seal on the lid

I kept checking my fermenter every day and nothing was happening... finally realized the gasket was warped just enough to let air escape. Has anyone else had a batch stall out from a tiny leak like that?

Ugh that's so frustrating. A tiny warp is all it takes man. I had a batch of IPA stall out because the rubber gasket on my bucket lid was just slightly cracked. Never would have thought to check it until I saw the airlock barely moving. You basically waste weeks waiting for nothing.

Wait did you check the lid gasket right away or did you chase other problems first? I spent a month on a saison one time chasing temp issues and swapping yeast before I realized my kettle valve was seeping just enough to mess with my gravity readings. That tiny leak cost me like 30 bucks in extra ingredients. What clued you into checking the gasket specifically? Was it just the slow airlock movement or did you see some other sign? Ive got 4 buckets and now Im paranoid about all of them after reading this.
