Overheard a guy at the farmers market say his sauerkraut was too salty because he used iodized table salt. Is that a real thing?

Ngl, that sounds like an old kitchen myth. Iodine doesn't make salt taste saltier, it's all about the grain size and how it measures. Table salt is finer so you can accidentally use way more by volume.
