DAE have a partner who keeps messing up your fermentation setup?

My husband decided to 'clean' the kitchen last night. He shoved all my fermenting jars into one cupboard. They were at different stages. Now my sauerkraut is too warm and my pickles are too cold. I spent months getting the timing right. He says it looks messy. But it's my process. We argued for an hour. I'm so annoyed I could scream.

Reading your post hit home for me. I used to think that kind of stuff wasn't a big deal until I tried fermenting myself. Seeing how temperature and timing affect the final product totally changed my mind. Now I get why you're so annoyed about the jars being moved. It's not just messiness, it's about the process and the work you put in.

Seriously! I read this wild article about how even tiny vibrations can mess with fermenting stuff. They did a test where people kept moving pickling jars slightly, and every single batch turned out mushy or weird. The scientist guy said it's because the good bacteria get stressed out and quit early.

I mean, I kind of get the opposite view though. People say moving jars ruins fermentation but my grandma has been making pickles for 50 years and she rattles those things around like crazy whenever she cleans the counter. Her pickles turn out fine every time. Honestly I think some of this stuff gets blown way out of proportion by the internet. A little bump here and there probably isn't going to kill your bacteria unless you're shaking them like a maraca.
