Can we talk about my kid's science fair project gone sour?

He tried to make kombucha for his experiment. Now our kitchen smells like a vinegar factory, and his teacher asked if we're running a brewery.

Did you try baking soda to kill the vinegar smell? Sprinkling it on surfaces overnight really helped when my sister's scoby exploded. Maybe your kid can explain to the teacher it was a fermentation study that just got too active?

That baking soda trick never worked for me, and teachers usually see right through those science experiment excuses.

Yeah, the baking soda thing is hit or miss. I just opened all the windows and ran a fan for a day, which finally cleared it out.
