Thought cheap dish soap was all the same until my hands cracked at Thanksgiving
I used to grab whatever blue bottle was cheapest, usually the $1.25 store brand, and never thought twice about it. Two weeks back my knuckles got so dry and cracked that my wife pointed it out while we were doing dishes after dinner at her mom's place in Boise. Her mom handed me a bottle of the kind with aloe and said plain, "the cheap stuff strips your hands, that's the whole tradeoff." I figured that was just something older folks say, but I looked at the label and the cheap one had way more of whatever the harsh cleaning stuff is called. After 6 days of the aloe kind my hands stopped splitting and I could actually wash a pan without wincing. Now I want to know if the mid priced stuff at the grocery store is really better or if it's just the same harsh formula in a fancier bottle. Does anyone have a cheap option that doesn't leave your hands feeling like sandpaper?
