Showerthought: That minty dish soap trend from 2018 was the worst thing to happen to my sink.

I swear, all those fancy "natural" mint soaps just leave a weird residue on my plates and now I'm stuck scrubbing twice as long to get it off, has anyone else noticed how they don't cut through grease the way the old lemon stuff did?

Honestly, that minty trend felt more like washing dishes with toothpaste than actual soap. Tbh, I'm pretty sure my plates just started smelling like a dentist's office instead of getting clean. Ngl, I'd take the old lemon stuff any day even if it means my hands smell like a breakfast diner.

Three bottles of that mint stuff in and I finally switched back to Dawn last month. The trick I found was running a vinegar rinse through the sponge between loads to cut the buildup, but honestly it's not worth the fight. If you still have any mint soap left, try using it as a hand soap instead of dish soap, that's the only place it actually worked for me without leaving residue. My roommate bought a gallon of that mint concentrate from some eco brand and I ended up just using it to clean the bathroom counters. The lemon stuff costs less and does its job in one pass, no idea why we all fell for that trend.
