Finally figured out why my hands were cracking so bad after doing dishes

I've been washing dishes for years and always blamed the hot water for my dry hands. Last month I ran out of my usual soap and grabbed a bottle of that cheap lemon stuff from the dollar store. After two days my knuckles were bleeding and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out I never looked at the ingredients before, but that cheap soap had way more alcohol and sulfates in it. My regular brand (Dawn) uses milder stuff, but the dollar store one stripped every bit of oil off my skin. Has anyone else had a random brand mess up their hands like that out of nowhere?

Same thing happens with all kinds of products now, cheaper stuff always cuts corners to save money.
