Warning: That cheap injector puller from Harbor Freight just cost me a cylinder head
Was doing a 6.0 Powerstroke injector job out in Bakersfield last Friday and my buddy said to borrow his Snap-On puller instead. I figured the $40 one would work fine, but the jaws slipped on #4 injector and gouged the bore pretty bad. Now I'm looking at pulling the head and machining it, which is gonna run close to $1,200 with parts. Any of you guys had luck with the cheaper pullers or is this just the cost of learning the hard way?

Used to swear by the cheap stuff for most jobs, figured a puller was just a chunk of metal. Changed my mind real quick after watching a buddy's cheap one twist on a 7.3 and chew up the bore. That $40 tool turned into a $900 mistake for him, and your story just confirms it. Sometimes saving money upfront costs you way more in the long run, especially on stuff that touches the head.
