Tried cheap injectors to save cash. Big mistake.

I thought I was being smart last fall when I ordered a set of re-man injectors off eBay for my 6.0 Powerstroke. They were $400 for the whole set, half of what the good ones cost. First week they ran fine, truck felt normal. By month two I had a miss at idle and white smoke on cold starts. Pulled them out and three of them were already leaking internally. Cost me a weekend of labor and the $400 is just gone. Ended up buying a set from a diesel shop in Phoenix for $850 and theyve been solid for 6 months now. Anybody else get burned by cheap fuel parts like this?

Man I swear my wallet has a death wish sometimes. Bought cheap glow plugs once and spent a whole weekend pulling the intake just to snap two of them off in the head. Learned that lesson real quick too.

You said they ran fine for a week and that's exactly how they get you. They know people will give a good review after seven days and then by the time the injectors fail the return window is long gone. Three out of eight leaking internally after two months is insane. That white smoke on cold starts is a dead giveaway too, that's unburnt fuel from a bad spray pattern. The $850 set sounds like the smarter move in the long run even if it hurt the wallet at first.
