The difference in these new fuel filters after 18 months is unreal

I run a small fleet of Freightliners for a local outfit outside Dallas. Back in March we switched from the cheap aftermarket filters to the OEM ones because the owner got tired of water in the fuel complaints. Same trucks, same routes, same drivers. At first I thought it was a fluke but after 18 months I pulled one apart last week and the media inside was still in good shape. The old ones would be mush and clogged with gunk by now. The cheap ones were 12 bucks each, these run 28. But I figure I spend way less time swapping them out and chasing primed lines. Has anyone else made that jump and seen a real difference in their filter life or is it just me?
