Switched from impact wrench to torque wrench on injector hold-downs last month in Reno
Spent a whole Saturday chasing a rough idle on a 6.7 Cummins. Pulled the injectors with my 1/2 inch impact like always and two of the hold-down bolts came out stretched. Went back with a torque wrench set to 44 ft-lbs and a clean sequence, and the idle smoothed right out. Guy at the parts counter in Reno said he sees warped hold-downs every week from guys gunning them on. Anyone else fighting this on their own rigs?
