Saw a guy in Bakersfield running a Detroit 60 on straight pipe with no air filter, and the intake was eating dust
Was at the truck stop off Highway 58 in Bakersfield last week getting coffee. Guy next to me had his hood up on an old Freightliner and the intake pipe was wide open. No filter housing, no element, nothing. He said he was waiting on a part and had been running it like that for 3 weeks. I told him about the dust getting past the rings and he just shrugged. Has anyone seen a motor survive that kind of abuse or is this one done for?
