Just realized I'd been torquing head bolts dry for 5 years

Was helping a buddy rebuild a 7.3 Powerstroke and he asked why I wasn't lubing the threads. Grabbed the manual and sure enough it says to oil 'em. All those head gasket jobs I did, how many were actually torqued right? Anyone else miss a basic step for way too long?

What kind of lube did you end up using?

Ended up going with the Wet Platinum stuff actually, @max472. It's water based so it doesn't gum up in the cold weather we've been having. Honestly it's been working a treat for me so far and no complaints from my partner either lol.
