I finally stopped torquing head bolts by feel after a guy in Lubbock called me out
A retired mechanic named Walt watched me button up a 5.9 Cummins head about two years back and asked why I was guessing on the final pass. He said, "Son, your arm doesn't know 125 foot pounds from 90," and handed me his old beam style wrench. I bought a good click type the next week and my comeback rate on head gasket jobs dropped to almost nothing. What did somebody point out to you that changed the way you work?
