Hot take: Buying a used injector puller from a random guy in Tulsa was a huge mistake.
I paid $40 for it and it snapped on the first injector, but a buddy says his $20 harbor freight one has held up for 3 years, so is it luck or just knowing when to call it quits on a cheap tool?

Blame the tool not the location. A guy in Tulsa selling a used puller doesn't make it junk, same as Harbor Freight stuff can hit or miss. You probably bought one that was already close to breaking from previous use. Cheap tools work fine if you take care of them and know their limits. Your buddy got lucky with his, but your $40 lesson just means inspect used stuff closer next time.

People treat cheap stuff like it owes them something, then act surprised when it breaks.
