Had the worst Monday of my life on a Cummins ISX in Atlanta
I spent 12 hours trying to track down an oil leak on a 2015 Freightliner only to find it was a cracked oil cooler gasket that took me 45 minutes to replace once I finally found it. The customer was breathing down my neck the whole time and I think I snapped at him pretty bad when he asked if it was ready at 4pm. Anyone else have a simple fix that took way too long to diagnose?

I've been on the other side of that 4pm question a few times. A 2011 Volvo with a mystery coolant leak had me chasing ghosts for almost two days. Turned out the water pump weep hole was weeping, but only when the engine was hot and at a specific rpm. The customer asked me the same thing, and I told him I'd call him when I had news, not the other way around. Sometimes setting that boundary upfront saves both of you the tension. Maybe you were a little short with him, but after 12 hours, I can't blame you.

Noticed the same thing with my neighbor and his lawn guy. Every Thursday at 4 he'd be out there pacing until the mower showed up. Some folks just need that firm "I'll call you" to stop the clock watching.
