Had a weird epiphany about injector cups at a truck stop diner outside Amarillo

I was eating breakfast at that diner off I-40 and overheard two old timers arguing about how most guys clean injector cups wrong. They swore by using a brass brush with diesel as lube instead of anything harsh. Has anyone else tried that method and noticed a difference in cup life?

Overheard wisdom at a truck stop diner doesn't exactly scream "proven technique" to me, but I guess people swear by all kinds of weird methods. A brass brush with diesel sounds like it'd work fine enough, though I've never had issues just using a standard cleaning kit and some elbow grease. Seems like a lot of fuss over something that either works or doesn't.
