Found a way to pull frozen injectors without snapping them off
Broke two injectors in a row on a cold morning last winter before I tried heating the cylinder head around the bore with a heat gun for 5 minutes first. Has anyone else had better luck with a specific heat pattern on these older 7.3 Powerstrokes?

Man that heat gun trick is a lifesaver. I had the same exact problem on my '97 7.3 last winter, snapped one clean off before I wised up. I focused the heat right around the base of the injector bore, let it sit for a solid 5-7 minutes, and it came out like butter. Also found that hitting it with some PB Blaster while it's still warm helps break the carbon seal even more.

Tried that heat gun trick on a stubborn injector myself and felt like a fool for not doing it sooner. Went from wrenching and cussing to having it out in ten minutes flat. The PB Blaster while warm really does the trick, I think the heat opens up the pores in the metal just enough. Just be careful not to overdo the heat, you don't want to warp anything around the bore.
