Used to rush my farm layout, now I just let it grow naturally
I mean, back when I first started Stardew Valley around 2020, I'd plan out every single crop row and fence line before even planting, I had a whole spreadsheet for it honestly. But after a few farms and a move to a smaller map in year 3 last fall, I stopped forcing the design and just placed things where they felt right, like my beehives ended up near the pond because I liked how the light hit them at 5pm. The shift happened when I realized I was spending more time rearranging than actually playing, and now I leave spots empty on purpose to see what grows in or where the animals wander. I still keep a general path for my daily routine, but the rest is just vibes at this point. Has anyone else gone from super structured to more of a go-with-the-flow approach, or am I the only one who needed a few hundred hours to chill out?
