Warning: my cordless clipper battery died mid-fade on a client this morning

It was a Wahl Magic Clip, and I had to finish the cut with my old corded backup while the client waited, so what's a reliable brand for a second set of cordless clippers you'd trust in a pinch?

You mentioned your Wahl Magic Clip died mid-fade. Honestly, that's a solid clipper, so maybe the issue is just the battery getting old. For a true backup, you want something different. I'd grab a basic corded Wahl Senior. It's a tank that will always run, so you're not just hoping a second cordless is charged. That way you have a real fallback for when any battery quits.

My old Magic Clip crapped out last year after like three years of heavy use. I was totally in the "just buy another cordless" camp until my buddy's corded Senior saved my skin during a power outage. You're right, having that one corded backup is a different level of peace of mind because it doesn't rely on a charge at all. I still use cordless for most cuts, but I keep a corded one in the bag now and it just makes sense.
