Warning: I quit keeping foils in the box and now I precut them before every client
For about 10 years I pulled foil straight off the roll while the client sat there, and I always had a pile of crinkled strips I couldn't use. After a client with thick hair kept me fighting the roll for 20 minutes at my chair in Beaverton, I started folding and tearing 30 strips before my shift starts. Now I keep them in a plastic tray on my station, sorted by width, and my color services run about 15 minutes faster. The trade off is my station looks messy to the new girls, but whatever works, right? Anyone here pre-cut their foil or do you still grab it as you go?
