Used to mix color by eye until a client in Phoenix left with orange roots and I had to comp her $85
Now I always write the formula on an index card and keep it in their file, and it saved me last week when a regular came back 6 weeks later wanting the exact same shade, so what do you all do to keep formulas straight when you switch lines?
Laughed at the orange roots part, we have all been there with a client who trusted us way too much. Index cards are smart and honestly they beat my system of scribbling on the back of a receipt and praying I can read my own hand later. Switching lines is the worst for this though, because the same formula number means something totally different at another brand.
