Spent $200 on a fancy color remover that ruined my client's hair
I bought this expensive color remover from a brand I saw all over Instagram... thought it would be gentle on her hair but it totally stripped the integrity out. After two applications her hair felt like straw and I had to do a deep protein treatment for an hour just to get it back to normal. The whole process took 4 hours and I ended up refunding her $150 because she was so upset. Has anyone else fallen for those Instagram product ads that don't deliver?

Oh man, that's rough. You gotta be careful with those color removers, especially the ones you see all over social media. Most of them are just repackaged bleach with a fancy name and a big markup. A true color remover like Color Oops or something based on reducing agents works way different than those Instagram brands that just strip everything out. For next time, doing a strand test first with any new product can save you hours and a lot of client drama. Sorry you had to deal with that mess.

Did you try to get it to take the green out and it just said "nah, I'ma make this worse"? Because that's exactly what mine did. @dakotam17 I seriously thought I was being smart buying that fancy $40 remover from some viral ad, and all it did was turn her hair into a patchy orange mess. Color Oops is my go-to now and I'll never stray again. Lesson learned the hard way, right?
