Spent $120 on a fancy blending brush that did exactly nothing different
I bought into the hype on a luxury blending brush from a brand I saw all over Instagram. Paid $120 for one brush, which felt insane even then, but I convinced myself it would change my shadow game. Spoiler alert: it blended exactly like my $8 Morphe brush from 2019. I used it for two weeks straight trying to see a difference and there just wasn't one. Returned it and got my money back, but I wasted so much time testing it out. Anybody else been burned by overpriced tools that don't deliver?

That Morphe brush from 2019 is still going, huh? What's the specific brush brand you ended up returning, just out of curiosity?

Oh man, I read somewhere that most luxury makeup tools are just made in the same factories as the drugstore stuff, just with a different logo stamped on. I fell for the same hype with a $90 foundation brush from a brand I saw all over YouTube. It shed bristles worse than a wet cat, while my Real Techniques one from the drugstore is still going strong after 5 years. That whole Instagram marketing machine is good at making you feel like you need expensive stuff to get good results.
