Pro tip: don't book six color clients in one Thursday, I learned that the hard way last week
So last Thursday I had six color appointments stacked back to back starting at 9am because my booking app let a new client squeeze into what I thought was an open slot. By client number four, a root touch up on a lady who wanted her grays gone before her son's wedding in Phoenix, I realized I had mixed the wrong developer for her formula. I caught it before I applied anything, but my hands were shaking a little and I had to dump the bowl and start over while she just stared at me in the mirror. The next two clients were highlights and a gloss, and I ended up finishing the last one at 8:40pm instead of 6, which meant my kid ate cereal for dinner. The thing is, the color on all six of them actually came out great, but I was so fried by the end that I forgot to set a timer on the last gloss and left it on 15 extra minutes. It still looked fine, thank goodness, but I sat in my car in the parking lot for a while before I could drive home. How do you all space out your color days so you're not running on fumes by client four? Do you block a certain number per day or just play it by ear?
