Lost a whole foil in my first balayage session 3 years ago
I was working on a client at the salon in Portland and my foil slipped right off the section onto the floor mid-application. I just grabbed a fresh foil, re-sectioned the hair, and told her I was checking the thickness. Has anyone else had a foil disaster during a service?

Oh man, "foil slipped right off the section onto the floor" - that's rough, I totally feel you. I had one slide off and land right in the wastebasket next to my station once, and I had to pretend I was just checking the foil placement while frantically digging it out. It's so easy to panic in that moment, especially when it's a pricey foil like a whole or a balayage pack. You handled it smooth though, just re-sectioning and keeping your cool... I probably would have tried to act like it was a test run.
