I was at the art museum in Denver and saw something wild with hair color
I went to the Denver Art Museum last weekend and I swear, half the people there were walking art pieces themselves. I saw this one woman with hair that shifted from a deep plum at the roots to a bright coral at the ends, and it was so smooth it looked like a watercolor painting. It wasn't a standard ombre, it was more like three colors melted together. It made me think about how much color theory we use is now coming from fine art, not just the color wheel we all learned. I wanted to ask her who did it, but she was gone before I could. It's got me thinking about trying a more blended, painterly approach on a mannequin head this week. Has anyone else tried a multi-color melt that isn't just a basic gradient? I'm curious about the back sectioning you'd use for that.

Should've just asked her. Now you're stuck trying to figure it out on a mannequin head like some mad scientist.

Mannequin head? That's a bit dramatic. Sometimes you just need to see how a style works on something that isn't your own reflection. Asking is great, but visual practice has its place too.
