I used to hate using bondo on hair mannequins, now I swear by it for training.

A few years ago, I thought bondo was just a gimmick for practice heads. Then a stylist in Austin convinced me to try it on a cheap mannequin from Sally Beauty, and the haircut held shape way better than any foam head I had used. Now I do it for every new student I mentor. Anyone else ever change their mind on a tool this fast?

Paint that thing thin. Seriously. Two thin coats and let it dry overnight. I thought the same thing, that the plastic would just melt or get all sticky. Nope. It actually bonds to the cheap plastic better than you'd think. Worst case you ruin a $15 mannequin head. Not exactly the end of the world.

Wait, bondo on a mannequin from Sally Beauty? That actually works without ruining the plastic? I've been too scared to try anything but foam heads.
