I thought ozone machines were a scam until my mentor pulled one out in a panic
I run a small salon in Nashville and a client came in with this permanent musty smell from thrift store clothes. I was skeptical when my mentor said to use a small ozone machine for 20 minutes in a sealed room. The smell was completely gone after one treatment and the room even felt fresher. Now I'm wondering how many other tools I've written off that could save me money and headaches. Has anyone else had a tool surprise you when you finally gave it a shot?

Hang on, I think there is a mix-up with how ozone machines actually work. They oxidize odors at a chemical level, but they don't clean the air in a way that makes the room "fresher" in a healthy sense. The machine uses high voltage to create ozone which is basically a powerful oxidizer that breaks down smells, but that same process can be bad for your lungs. Are you sure your mentor didn't run it while the salon was empty and air it out before clients came back in?

Idk Anna, that's a good point about the health risks. It sounds like your mentor might have been a bit careless with that whole setup, I feel for you.
