I don't get the hype about those salon-only shampoo brands

Honestly, I started using a $8 grocery store shampoo at my station in Austin about 3 months back and my clients' hair looks just as good as when I used the $40 professional stuff. The only real difference I noticed is my wallet feels heavier. Has anyone else tried ditching the luxury brands and seen no change in results?

Actually the expensive stuff can have higher quality ingredients that actually penetrate the hair shaft instead of just coating it.

The part where you said "my wallet feels heavier" really got me thinking... I actually wonder if the whole salon brand thing is more about the smell and less about the actual cleaning power. Like, the expensive stuff has those fancy fragrances that stick around all day, and people pay for that feeling of walking out of a salon. But once you wash it again at home with your cheap stuff, that scent is gone anyway. It's all just marketing making us think bubbles and a pretty bottle equals better hair health...
