Hot take: I was about to trash a client's hair after a botched color correction in my home salon

The level 7 base had turned a weird orange from a box dye, and my usual remix wasn't touching it. I grabbed a tube of 6N demi-permanent and mixed it with 10 volume developer, left it on for 15 minutes, and it neutralized the brass perfectly. Who else has a weird color rescue trick that actually works?

That's a solid save! Honestly, the real trick is having the guts to try something simple when the fancy stuff fails. A lot of stylists would panic and reach for another harsh corrective product, but a gentle demi can be a secret weapon. It's like a toner that actually deposits a bit of color to cancel things out. Saved that client a ton of extra damage.

@amy_robinson what brand of demi do you usually reach for when you need that kind of fix?
