Hit 1,000 haircuts this month and it messed with my head a bit

I've been keeping a rough count in my book since I started at this shop in Portland last year and I never thought I'd actually reach a thousand cuts that fast. It just hit me that I've done that many heads now and my hands finally feel like they know what they're doing without second guessing every snip. Has anyone else hit a milestone like this and felt both proud and like you still have so much to learn?

A THOUSAND cuts?! That is INSANE. I can't wrap my head around doing that many heads in just over a year. My wrists ache just thinking about it. You must have hands of STEEL by now. That's the kind of milestone that makes you realize how much muscle memory your body has built up without you even noticing.

Hold your horses, @barbara_kim. A thousand cuts sounds like a lot, sure, but let's be real. How many of those heads were actually practice runs or choppy work that got tossed in the bin anyway? Numbers can look impressive but they don't tell you about quality or technique. I've seen folks brag about racking up hundreds of cuts who still can't blend a fade properly. Maybe it's not about the count but about learning to stop and refine before just burning through product for the sake of a number.
