Had to choose between a classic bob and a textured lob for a client with damaged ends

She came in with bleach breakage about two inches from the ends, and I knew we had to go shorter. I picked the lob to keep some length while removing the damage, and used a point cutting technique to blend it. Anyone have a go-to method for making that blunt-to-textured transition look smooth?

Good call on the lob... sometimes you just have to save what length you can. Point cutting is my usual move for that too, but I'll sometimes go back over it with thinning shears on just the very bottom line if it still feels a bit heavy. It softens everything up without losing the shape. A light texturizing spray on damp hair before you blow dry can also help it all settle together nicely.

Oh man, thinning shears are a game changer! I got a cheap pair on a whim last year and they saved my DIY bangs from total disaster. That texturizing spray tip is solid though, I always forget to use product when it's wet.
