Debate: is a $60 dry brush really better than the $8 one? I saw the proof on my own legs

Full disclosure, I've been a dry brushing skeptic for like 3 years. My coworker at the salon in Austin swore by her fancy one so I finally tried hers for a week and then switched back to my cheap drugstore brush. The difference was wild, the expensive one left my skin way smoother after 7 days and the cheap one did almost nothing. Is it the bristle density or just the price tag making me think it works? Anyone else tested both and landed on a side?

Ugh, I totally get this. I was the same way with my cheap brush for ages, thought anyone paying $60 was nuts. Then my sister left her pricey one at my place when she visited and I used it for a week without thinking. When I switched back to mine, it actually felt like scratching my skin with a hay bale in comparison. The bristle density has to be the difference, mine just feels flimsy now and barely touches the surface. You're not imagining it, that's for sure.
