Booked a new client last Friday and my foils came out patchy

Honestly, I usually do fine with balayage but this client wanted a full foil set and I got too ambitious with the weave. I was using thin sections but the bleach processed faster on one side because I didn't check the light exposure in my station. Took me 20 extra minutes to fix it with a low-volume toner after. Anybody else have trouble with uneven processing near a window?

Oh "light and heat are out to get me" - that's exactly how it feels... I had a similar thing happen last week with my face cream, left it on the bathroom counter in the sun and it separated into this weird watery mess. Never even thought about it before. And you know what's funny? My cat's food bowl is on the kitchen island and I swear the kibble goes stale faster on the side that gets afternoon light through the window. It's like everything has its own little microclimate that we just can't see until something goes wrong. Hope your cookies turned out okay in the end though.

Oh I feel this so hard. You mentioned "didn't check the light exposure" and it made me realize that's like my whole life lately. It's not just hair, it's everything. I tried to bake cookies last week and forgot the ones on the left side of the tray were closer to the oven heating element (you know, the hot spot). Same exact problem. And then my sourdough starter, I keep it on the counter by the window and it bubbles way faster on sunny days than cloudy ones. It's like the universe is telling me that light and heat are out to get me no matter what I'm doing.
