Appreciation post: stuck with my old shears instead of upgrading to a $400 set

After 8 years of cutting, I finally had to pick between dropping cash on new titanium shears or sticking with my beat-up steel pair from cosmetology school. I chose to get them sharpened again for $35 and they've been cutting cleaner than ever since last month. Has anyone else found that older tools just work better after a tune-up?

New shears cut way smoother and stay sharp way longer. Old ones hold you back.

Wait, you mean I could've just sharpened my 10 year old shears instead of buying those new ones with the fancy screw that I still can't figure out how to adjust? I threw $80 at a mid-range pair last month and honestly, I keep reaching for my old rusty ones from school because they feel like an extension of my hand. There's something about that worn-in grip and the way the blades have molded to my exact cutting angle that no new tool can match.
