Am I the only one who thinks the 'no heat' styling trend is a total scam for most clients?

I had a client last week who insisted on a full blowout with zero heat, just air drying and product. It looked flat and frizzy after 2 hours. When are we going to be honest that proper thermal protection and technique is better than chasing a fad? What's your go-to heat protectant for thick hair?
