That random talk with a landscaper changed how I deal with bad advice
I was out front last Saturday yanking out these old junipers that were totally overgrown, and this older guy walking his dog stops to chat. He said something like 'half the battle is knowing when to just walk away and let things be for a season'. At first I thought he was talking about plants, but then I realized he meant advice in general. Like how many times I've gotten caught up in someone's strong opinion about what I should do in my own yard or house, and it just made things worse. It hit me different because I've spent like 3 years following random tips from neighbors that never worked out. Has anyone else had a random stranger drop some wisdom that actually stuck with you longer than planned?

Used to be the type who had to take every piece of advice like it was gold. Hearing that landscaper's take made me realize half the stuff I tried was just noise from people who didn't even know my situation. Now I let more of those opinions roll off and just do what feels right for me.

Heard a guy at the job site once telling me all about his buddy who had the same problem and what worked for him, turns out his buddy didn't even have the same issue. Ever notice how people love to hand out solutions before they even know the real question?
