I thought Nextdoor was just people complaining about lost cats, but last week my pipe burst at 9pm and a neighbor recommended a guy who fixed it for $150 cash. Has anyone else had a pleasant surprise from a platform they initially wrote off?

That $150 plumber is a steal. I got a guy who fixed my fence gate for $60 cash off Nextdoor last summer. The app is full of drama but the recommendation threads are gold. My neighbor found a dog walker who shows up on time through there too. It's like a weird trade off you gotta sift through the rants to find the real helpers.
