That $200 dehumidifier that saved my basement after one bad rain
I dropped $200 on a 50-pint dehumidifier after a storm flooded my crawl space last spring, and it pulled out 3 gallons of water the first night alone. Has anyone else had a cheap fix beat a big repair bill like this?

...and now I'm that person who actually reads the manual to figure out the "continuous drain" hose, which is honestly my level of excitement these days. My $150 shop vac did the same thing after a pipe burst in my laundry room, saved me from calling a plumber (who probably would have laughed at me). Every time I look at that wet/dry vac, I feel like a real adult, even though it's just sitting in the corner judging my bad decisions.

Wait, $150? For a shop vac? I thought those things topped out around sixty bucks... mine was like forty five from Home Depot. Did you get one with like, built in wifi or something?
