Spent a weekend at a state park and noticed something weird about the trail markers

I went to Lake Cumberland State Park in Kentucky last weekend for a quick hiking trip. The trail markers were all these faded wooden posts with tiny numbers nailed into them. I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out if I was on the Blue Trail or the Red Trail. Turns out the paint was worn off almost completely from weather and sun. There were three spots where two trails crossed and zero signs telling you which way to go. I ended up using my phone GPS twice just to get back to the parking lot. Has anyone else run into parks with bad signage like this?

Wait, paint wore off completely? That's wild. They can't afford like a $5 bucket of paint or some reflective tape?
