Question about the advice my uncle gave me on asking neighbors for help with our block cleanup
My uncle Ray has lived on the same street in Dayton for 32 years and he told me to just knock on doors and ask people directly for help instead of making a big group chat. I set up a chat anyway last spring because I figured people hate being bothered at home, and only 4 of 19 houses responded after two weeks. So I tried his way for the fall cleanup, knocked on 11 doors in one afternoon, and 8 people said yes on the spot. Guess I owe him an apology for rolling my eyes at him back in March. Has anyone else had better luck with door knocking than group messages for stuff like this?
