Neighbor's comment on my yard sign made me rethink it

I put up one of those 'slow down' signs last month after a car almost hit my kid at the corner here in Dayton. A guy walking his dog said it looked angry and asked if I'd tried talking to the city first, which made me wonder if the sign is actually doing anything or just making me feel better. Anyone else gotten feedback that flipped how they handle a local issue?
