Fell for a $500 home inspection course that was completely useless

I paid $500 for an online home inspection certification course thinking I could pick up some extra work on weekends. Turned out the materials were all outdated and the 'practice exams' had nothing to do with the actual state test. When I complained, they said I should have read the fine print about no refunds. Has anyone else gotten burned by those 'get certified quick' programs?

Don't those "get certified quick" programs usually just recycle the same free YouTube videos you could find yourself? I checked out a few after my buddy got burned on a similar deal, and the fine print basically says they can sell you air if you don't read carefully. The whole setup is designed to make you feel like you're getting a shortcut, but really it's just a cash grab from people wanting to switch careers.
