Debate: Fix a busted laptop or just trash it?

My old Dell from 2019 finally gave out last Tuesday. Screen went black, fan started grinding like crazy. I spent 3 hours trying to reinstall drivers but nothing worked. Now I'm stuck - repair shop quoted me $180 for a new screen and fan, or I could drop $400 on a basic refurb. Which side you on? Is it worth saving old tech or just move on?

Bro is that a 2019 Dell? lol that thing is already 5 years old. $180 to fix a laptop that might crap out again in 6 months is rough. I'd just grab that $400 refurb and call it a day unless you're really tight on cash.
